Boat tour to
Carloforte and Sant'Antioco
half day - morning
Designed for those who seek the sea, tranquility, and the unique natural beauty of Sardinia.

The morning boat tours lasts 3 hours and typically includes two stops. See the list of possible itineraries.
Snorkeling
Our fleet is fully equipped with all safety and rescue gear to make your boat trip enjoyable and stress-free.
Snorkeling gear, including fins and masks, is provided for all guests and thoroughly sanitized after every excursion.
The best snorkeling spots and areas to observe marine life are where sandy seabeds alternate with rocky outcrops and posidonia meadows. These habitats provide fish with food, shelter, and breeding grounds.
Top snorkeling stops include La Mezzaluna, with its coastal inlets, Lucchese, famous for its marine caves, La Tonnara, between San Pietro and Piana islands, and the Mangiabarche lighthouse. The seabeds near Giunco and Guidi beaches in Carloforte, as well as Sottotorre, La Salina, and Grande beaches on Sant’Antioco, are excellent for spotting schools of mullet and salpa.
Common species you may encounter include gilt-head bream, sea bream, damsels, wrasses, salpa, and small castagnoles. Occasionally, octopus, cuttlefish, sole, gilt-head bream, and young sea bass may also appear.
Aperitif on board
During the boat tour, the captain will be pleased to choose a calm and sheltered cove and prepare a refreshing aperitif on deck, with snacks and the renowned wines of the Sulcis islands. A special moment to conclude your perfect tour exploring this incredible corner of southern Sardinia.
P.S. The aperitif menu may vary depending on the season.
The Boat Experience: 3 Hours, 2 Stops, 2 Swim Breaks
Morning is the best time to enjoy the clear, sparkling waters of the Sulcis Archipelago.
We have selected itineraries that allow you to visit the most famous spots of San Pietro and Sant’Antioco islands in just a few hours. Each excursion promises unforgettable memories – the images of these beaches, cliffs, and crystal-clear waters will stay with you forever.
Some itineraries focus only on Carloforte (San Pietro Island), others only on Calasetta (Sant’Antioco Island), and some combine both. The skipper chooses the route based on weather conditions – wind and sea – to ensure maximum comfort, drawing on 30 years of experience navigating these waters.
Possible Stops at San Pietro:
-
Piana Shoals near the historic Carloforte tuna fishery – shallow sandy seabeds perfect for snorkeling.
-
Giunco and Guidi beaches – turquoise, crystal-clear waters with plenty of swimming options.
-
Lucchese (Lûcaise in Tabarchino) – a favorite bay with shallow waters, surrounded by schools of fish and marine caves reachable in a few strokes.
-
La Bobba – Carloforte’s most famous beach, ideal for snorkeling and a refreshing onboard aperitif.
-
Le Colonne – two volcanic monoliths rising 16 meters; only one remains after a 2013 storm.
-
Mezzaluna Cliff – 20-meter-high volcanic cliff with famous caves, historically visited by monk seals.
Sant’Antioco Stops:
-
Sottotorre Beach – near Calasetta, named after the 18th-century Savoy tower used to spot pirates.
-
La Salina Beach – shallow lagoon and sandy seabeds, perfect for a swim.
-
Grande Beach – features the historic tuna fishery tower and excellent snorkeling along sandy, posidonia, and rocky seabeds.
The boat experience
Morning is the best time to fully appreciate the crystal-clear waters surrounding the Sulcis Archipelago. We have selected a range of itineraries that, with just a few hours of sailing, allow you to visit the most famous spots on the islands of San Pietro and Sant’Antioco. Each of these tours will leave you with unforgettable memories, and we are certain that images of these beaches, cliffs and clear waters will stay with you for a lifetime. Some itineraries include stops only along the Carloforte coastline (San Pietro Island), others focus on the Calasetta coast (Sant’Antioco Island), while some combine both. Everything depends on weather conditions: sea and wind influence our navigation, and the skipper—drawing on over thirty years of experience along these routes—will choose the most suitable excursion to ensure maximum comfort on board. On San Pietro Island, possible stops include, to the northeast, the shallow waters of Isola Piana, near the famous Carloforte tuna fishery. Here the boat anchors over a sandy, shallow seabed, perfect for exploring with mask and snorkel. To the west, the beaches of Giunco and Guidi offer wide stretches of crystal-clear turquoise water, with countless opportunities for swimming stops. Lucchese (Lûcaise in the local Tabarchino dialect) is one of our absolute favourite destinations. In a wide bay with depths of less than two metres, an expanse of sea opens up that is ideal for unforgettable swims. You’ll be surrounded by schools of fish—such as saddled seabream and damselfish—and the unmissable sea caves carved into the white cliffs can be reached with just a short swim. La Bobba, Carloforte’s most famous beach, is a gem nestled between two large rocky arms covered in Mediterranean scrub. It is one of the best spots both for snorkeling and for enjoying a refreshing aperitif served on board by the skipper. The natural monument Le Colonne is also worth at least a photo stop: two ignimbrite sea stacks rising up to 16 metres above the water. In 2013, the smaller one collapsed during a storm, and only its base remains visible. The final stop on San Pietro is the Mezzaluna cliff, imposing at around 20 metres high. The boat sails close along the coast before stopping in front of the famous caves known as the Mezzaluna caves, which, according to old fishermen’s tales, were once frequented by monk seals. On Sant’Antioco Island, the first stop is Sottotorre. This beautiful beach, very close to the town of Calasetta, takes its name from the 18th-century Savoyard tower that has watched over the coast for centuries, originally serving to spot Barbary pirates. Further west lies La Salina beach, named after the shallow saltwater lagoon that stretches behind it. The seabed just offshore is sandy and shallow—ideal for a swimming stop.
Aperitif on board
Mid-morning, the skipper chooses a calm, sheltered cove and serves a refreshing aperitif on deck with local snacks and renowned Sulcis wine – a perfect moment to enhance your experience exploring this incredible corner of southern Sardinia. The aperitif menu may vary with the season.
Snorkeling
Our fleet is fully equipped with all safety and rescue gear to ensure a pleasant and worry-free experience. Snorkeling equipment—including fins and masks—is provided and sanitized after every excursion. The best snorkeling spots are where sandy seabeds alternate with rocks and Posidonia seagrass meadows, creating ideal habitats for fish to feed, reproduce, and take refuge from predators. The most favorable stops for snorkeling are La Mezzaluna, Le Spine with its varied underwater landscape, and La Tonnara, a natural passage between San Pietro and Piana islands. Commonly spotted species include wrasses, sea bream, damselfish, salps, and castagnoles, with occasional sightings of octopus, cuttlefish, soles, gilthead bream, and young sea bass.
The stops of the boat tour to Carloforte

Calasetta, the port
We leave the harbor of this small white town in the morning. From the sea, you can clearly see the bell towers of the Church of San Maurizio and the famous Savoy tower.

Rush, the beach
Giunco is a long beach on Carloforte backed by a fertile plain. The shallow, emerald-colored waters make it perfect for a safe swim, even for children.

Guidi, the cove
Cala Guidi (Guidi Cove) is famous for its crystal-clear waters that, viewed from its golden beach, seem to stretch endlessly to the horizon. This little paradise is just a few kilometers from the town of Carloforte, ideal for a visit from the boat.

La Bobba, the beach
La Bobba, nestled in a beautiful bay, is one of the most famous beaches on San Pietro Island, known for its fine sand and turquoise, transparent waters.

The Column, the monument
Of the two monumental volcanic rocks that once rose like columns from the sea until 2013, only one remains, standing 16 meters tall, while the second collapsed under stormy waves. Legend has it that they were two sea monsters turned to stone by Saint Peter to protect the island.

Lûcaise, the bay
Between Bobba Beach and the small islet of Geniò lies a beautiful bay, set between light volcanic cliffs, which is home to Lucchese Beach (Lûcaise). The beach is characterized by coarse sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters.

La Mezzaluna the cliff
Mezzaluna is a volcanic rock cliff over 20 meters high, easily recognized by its natural crescent shape that forms a scenic inlet full of small caves and crevices. It’s especially spectacular when viewed from the sea.

The Carloforte tuna fishery and Piana Island
This is a fantastic option for its scenic beauty, with shallow, transparent, sandy seabeds stretching between Isola Piana and the historic tuna fishery of Carloforte, easily recognizable by the old buildings along the coast.

Sottotorre, the beach of Calasetta
Calasetta’s town beach is just a short walk from the historic centre and is popular with both locals and visitors. An ancient Savoyard tower overlooks the beautiful sandy shore and the small bay with its turquoise waters.

The beach and the salt pan
A stunning sea, a white sandy beach, and thriving prickly junipers along the dunes. This location is one of our favorites for a refreshing swim or to enjoy an aperitif at anchor.

The beach and the tuna fishery
A historic site and a large white sandy beach adorn this open, sunny bay. The old Calasetta tuna fishery is no longer active, but its red tower stands as a beacon over the crystalline waters. A must-visit for swimming and snorkeling.

The lighthouse
Perhaps the most famous lighthouse in the Sulcis archipelago, a small gem standing strong against storms on the tiny Mangiabarche islet, just a few hundred meters from Calasetta’s coast. We approach it closely for sightseeing and photos. It’s also a perfect spot for a quick snorkeling session.
